- 1 onion, cut in wedges
- 4 potatoes, peeled and quartered
- 1 lb of baby carrots
- 3 cups water
- 3 garlic cloves, minced
- 1 bay leaf
- 2 tablespoons sugar
- 3 tablespoons cider vinegar
- 1 teaspoon pepper
- 1 corned beef brisket with spice packet, cut in half (I prefer the point side of the brisket)
- 1 small head of cabbage, cut into wedges
